It must have been love

“I think this is a very nice cover version. Pachanta makes “It must have been love”
sound like their „own song“. It comes out very different from the original. I like that.
Hats off and good luck!”

Behind the Scenes

PACHANTA

Pachanta means: hot-blooded new versions of the biggest pop hits of the eighties and nineties in a trendy ‘Urban Latin Pop’ style. Visually and acoustically, Pachanta inspires with its carefree summer feeling, with the flair of fun pool parties, warm dance nights and hot days under shady palm trees on the beach. For Pachanta fans, the sunniest season will now last much longer and extend well beyond the meteorologically limited period between June and September.

Pachanta is a music project initiated by the Hamburg artist & booking agent Manuel Pielka (MPM Music) with selected, multi-platinum producers such as Elephant Music, B-Case, J.O.D. or Stard Ova. Pielka is the head and heart of the agency ‘MPM Music’ (including Kay One, Knossi, Finch, Die Atzen, Mike Singer, and in the past Destinys Child or Puff Daddy) and the record label ‘Montania Empire Records’ (distribution: Universal Music) . Due to its trend-setting production level and audiophile class, Pachanta can also be called a sound system. Among the renowned guests of the spectacular project are the singers Cristóbal, July and Solé Basaldua, the German cult DJs Gestört aber GeiL and many other artists.

Cristóbal was one of the winners of the casting show ‘Popstars’ in 2007 and has since celebrated great national and international success with his own songs and with ‘Room 2012’. Cristóbal is an exceptional artist with a huge sphere of influence: As a singer, he was involved in many other successful projects, including ‘Bachata’ by Kay One, which recorded 40 million (!!) streams. His collaboration with Pietro Lombardi, whom he accompanied on tour as a singer and pianist, was also spectacular, as were his sensational support shows with Rihanna and DJ Bobo.

The Berlin singer July is currently one of the most exciting new discoveries and in 2023 – during her concentrated preparation for her high school diploma – she was able to release two spectacular tracks with ‘Ghost Town’ (including Joris Sava and the dance giants VIZE) and ‘Rebellion’ (feat. Jerome). Since then she has been completely focused on her musical career.

Solé Basaldua comes from Buenos Aires, lives in London and fascinates not only with her sensitive voice, but also with her extraordinary physical presence. As a gymnast, she took part in the Olympic Games in Atlanta with the Argentine national team and also completed extensive training in acting, singing and dancing. She pursued her music and dance career primarily in England and America. Solé lived in Los Angeles for a long time and is signed to two respected artist agencies there. In addition to numerous videos with other artists, she has published her own clips ‘Caliente’ and ‘Spanish Eyes’, among others.

Gestört aber GeiL with Spike*D and Nico Wendel has been synonymous with innovative mixes of tech house, house and pop since 2010. In addition to countless remixes (including by Alligatoah, Kay One, Tom Beck and Kool Savas), the German DJ duo was able to release the Elif cover ‘Unter meine Haut’ (feat. DJ Koby Funk and sung by Wincent Weiss) and ‘Ich & Du ‘ (feat. Sebastian Hämer) landed two high chart positions and won a gold record. The song ‘Be My Now’, produced with the German singer/songwriter LEA, became the title track of the eighth season of ‘The Bachelor’ on RTL. At Pachanta, Gestört aber GeiL provide stylish sounds and lascivious grooves.

The first Pachanta single/clip, a new edition of the Bananarama hit ‘Cruel Summer’, including a worth seeing clip with, among others, the famous ‘DeLorean’ from ‘Back to the Future’, immediately landed among the top in summer 2021 10 on the German dance charts, followed by a remake of the Chris Isaak track ‘Wicked Game’. In June 2022, the single (including video) ‘Right Here Waiting For You’, which has now been streamed 3 million times, was released, a trendy new version of the Richard Marx classic, produced by B-Case & Chris Cronauer, who have already composed for and woekd with Helene Fischer, Nico Santos, Robin Schulz, Topic, Vanessa Mai and Capital Bra. In June 2022, Pachanta were invited to the ‘ZDF- Fernsehengarten’ to present ‘Right Here Waiting For You’, followed in July by an appearance on the ‘MDR Sommer Show’. This was followed by the number ‘Girl You Know It’s True’ (Original: Milli Vanilli), another wonderfully relaxed and emotional summer hit, followed by a racy Pachanta version of the Roxette song ‘It Must Have Been Love’ by Roxette mastermind Peer Gessle himself was released. No more knighthood is possible! Pachanta’s debut album ‘Miami Nights’ was also released in November 2022, and at the same time the public premiere of ‘It Must Have Been Love’ took place on the ‘Giovanni Zarrella Show’ – accompanied by a large symphony orchestra!

The latest Pachanta coup: a new edition of Laura Branigan’s classic ‘Self Control’, one of the biggest hits of the eighties and a regular guest on many radio stations and clubs around the world for 40 years. In addition to Cristóbal, the new version also sees July and the cult DJs Disturbed but GeiL and, with the driving beat, the aesthetic soundscapes and a hot mix of tech house and pop, ensures pure dance excitement on all-night party nights.
